Now that the 2012 Olympic Summer Games are behind us, John Orozco decided finally clear the air on his status as adopted.
In a post on her Facebook page, orozo wrote:
In my book the real parents are the ones who create, love & care for you. Simply a babe figment does't make you their real father. People who love you & will always be there for you are the Royal family.
So we can consider practically this mystery solved.
Many viewers to watch the games wondered if John was the son of Puerto Rican parents, Damaris and William Orozco.
We became curious and did some digging around to see if there was more info on John, that we shared in our previous story: "is adopted by John Orozco Olympic gymnast?"
John's Facebook post date, it appears that some of the gymnastics Community were right that the rule adopted by John wasn't exactly a secret.
If John and his parents never feel comfortable enough to talk further about their adoption and how this influenced the life of John, that would be great. For its part, the family life of John looks so close as any other.
He shared the photo above his parents received at the airport after the games and has also posed with her siblings (at least one of which seems to also adopted) during his return to JFK airport.
Orozco is hardly the only person taken to attain the fame and success in the spotlight.
Steve Jobs, the late co-founder of Apple, has also struggled with the discovery that his parents were actually his adopted parents. But as Orozco, works with values of relationship he had with his parents over his birth parents.
Adoption should not be a dirty word, so John and his family should not shy away from discussing it. Their family unity is an example for us all.
