Chad Johnson arrested for domestic violence after head butting Evelyn Lozada

NFL star Chad Johnson was arrested on charges of domestic violence in Florida Saturday night after a physical altercation with his new wife Evelyn Lozada, where he allegedly head butted her.

According to multiple reports, confirmed the couple got into a heated discussion on their way home from dinner after Evelyn compared Chad on a receipt that he found a box of condoms.

When they arrived home in the driveway of Davie, FL (outside of Miami), Johnson allegedly head butted Lozada, she told police. (Johnson's Side of the story is that they "accidently knocked heads.")

Lozada, who stars on VH1 's reality show "Basketball Wives", was treated at a hospital for a cut to his forehead, police said.

Johnson, who is a receiver for the Miami Dolphins, was transported to the Broward County jail, and police say that perhaps he might wait until Monday to see a judge. He was charged with simple battery, domestic violence, which is a crime.

Chad and Evelyn just got married last month in Miami, and their new reality show with "Ev & Ocho" — a spin-off of "Basketball Wives" — is set to premiere in September.
